Psychological Assessment
I also specialize in the assessment of both adults and children. I have worked with many children and adults in the assessment of a variety of mental health issues. These range from AD/HD, depression, anxiety, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, learning disabilities, and various somatic pain disorders. A good assessment can save both a lot of time and money over a lifetime. My assessments are thorough, practical and always contain detailed treatment recommendations. I have helped students receive special accommodations at school and college as a result of the testing process. The Assessment Process I begin by interviewing both the client and the most important persons in their life, gathering crucial information about history, behavior and habits of daily living. From there I carefully select a variety of tests that will further isolate a client’s symptoms. When all the testing is finished I integrate the information into a coherent picture. Finally when the client’s main issues have been identified I compile a thorough, structured treatment plan designed to assist any treatment provider in moving forward with therapy. Testing typical occurs in two, four hour sessions or three, three hour sessions. It then takes about two weeks to compile the tests results and complete an integrated report and treatment recommendations. |
